640 = ACEC Manitoba Celebrates National Engineering Month
The 3rd annual 640 event celebrating National Engineering Month in our province took place on March 21, 2016. Engineering Month is all about celebrating our industry with the general public, and telling others why we do what we do as professionals employed in engineering companies.
Over 30 people attended the 640 event of thought-provoking presentations. Speakers presented with the guidelines of the format of 20 slides lasting 20 seconds each, which equals 6 minutes and 40 seconds. The presenter does not control the slides, which makes for a very interesting presentation and a challenge for even the avid public speaker. The format was originally developed by architects in Japan as a way to speed up presentations and over the past few years has been used by architects and other creative types in Winnipeg at numerous events.
